The Shazam for
SoundCloud.
Decibel identifies SoundCloud tracks. Search by name, or paste a SoundCloud link to find out what's already in the database and what still needs analysis - free song recognition for the entire SoundCloud catalog.
How Decibel works
Decibel is a single-developer effort. Every track is downloaded, fingerprinted and matched by hand-written tooling. Nothing runs at scale, so coverage grows one batch at a time.
Not every track is available yet. If the one you need is missing, you can queue it right from its page, or go Premium to move it up.
Decibel is free. Premium pays for storage and compute — get it in the app:
We're working on it! Decibel Premium will be available in the app stores soon.

How do I identify a SoundCloud song?
Paste the track's SoundCloud link into the search box above, or type part of its title or artist name. Decibel matches it against its fingerprint database and tells you whether the track can be identified.
Is Decibel really like Shazam for SoundCloud?
Yes - like Shazam recognizes songs playing around you, Decibel recognizes songs on SoundCloud. It fingerprints each track's audio so any track in the database can be identified from a short snippet.
Is it free?
Yes. Searching, track lookup and queueing are free. Donations cover the storage and compute needed to fingerprint more of the SoundCloud catalog.
A track is missing - what now?
Open its page and queue it for the next processing batch, or skip the queue if you need it identified urgently. Coverage grows one batch at a time.
If you're from SoundCloud, let's talk.
Decibel exists because of SoundCloud's catalog, and I'd like this project to be part of your ecosystem rather than sitting outside of it. If you're listening: please reach out.
